JAMB Warns Against Fraudulent Website Demanding ₦15,700 from Candidates Who Missed Exam
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a strong public warning, distancing itself from a fraudulent website demanding ₦15,700 to allegedly “reschedule UTME 2025” for candidates who missed the exam. The board called it a blatant scam designed to deceive desperate candidates.
According to a statement released on Thursday, the fake platform titled “Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw” and linked to account number 8520641017 at Sterling Bank, is not affiliated with JAMB or any government agency.
“This is a nefarious scheme by unscrupulous individuals soliciting money under false pretenses,” said Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor.
No Rescheduling Fee for UTME 2025, JAMB Clarifies
JAMB reiterated that candidates who missed their UTME exam due to biometric verification issues are already being investigated and may be invited for a makeup exam at no cost—if eligible.
“Let us be unequivocal: this is a scam. No payment is required to reschedule UTME,” Benjamin said. “Those with no discrepancies in their records will be rescheduled for free.”

Sterling Bank Urged to Take Action
JAMB called on Sterling Bank to take immediate action to shut down the fraudulent account and support efforts to protect Nigerian students. The Board is also working with authorities to trace and prosecute the individuals behind the scam.
